Walking with the Saints
 
A summer outdoor adventure for
Catholic Children of Southwest Michigan.
 
Sacred Heart of Mary, in partnership with Holy Mother’s Sacred Family Collaborative
 
Children ages 4 to 12
 
Monday thru Friday, July 23 -- 27, 2018
8:30am to 11:30am
 
A Vacation Bible School is a chance to reinforce Christian values and faith lessons taught at home, school or “Sunday School.”  It may expand a child’s social opportunities in a safe environment.   Children who have difficulty learning sitting indoors may thrive in our natural environment & active program.
 
Using art, music, dance, storytelling, drama and more, we will present recently canonized Saints such as St. Kateri, St. Juan Diego and the Fatima children.  We will honor our tradition of the pilgrimage each day by “hiking” to special areas of our grounds. Snacks will be provided.
 
Volunteer Opportunities
[Just for an hour, one day, or all week]
 
            Youth 13, 14, & 15 – aides for any activity
            Young adults 16, 17, 18 – lead or assist with some activities (see below)
            Adults –
                        Activities (Bubble blowing; Hoops, Loops & Jump rope; & more)
                        Crafts
                        Group Leader
                        Music & dance
                        Name badge prep (pre-registration & Monday)
Parachute prayer leader (beginning & end each morning)
Sidewalk chalk art
Snack prep & serving
Set up & clean up
 
Adults in contact with children or youth must be Virtus certified. Youth volunteers will be supervised by certified adults.
