The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has invited dioceses, parishes and communities to join with him in participating in the initiative entitled 24 Hours for the Lord. This program is aimed at placing the Sacrament of Reconciliation once again at the center of the pastoral activity of the Church. Immaculate Conception in Three Rivers will be holding a two day Lenten Adoration on Friday, March 9 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
As we are all well aware, the recent outbreak of a particularly virulent strain of the flu has resulted in a record number of people admitted to the hospital, numerous school closings, and, in some very sad cases, the deaths of individuals who contracted it. Concerns have been raised regarding the reception of Holy Communion and other contact during the Sacred Liturgy that could potentially transmit the flu virus or other contagious diseases.
